Zenco Technical are looking to recruit a HV/MV Design Engineer for our client a market- leading, international, multi-disciplinary engineering services contractor. The successful candidate will be based in Cork and an excellent remuneration package is on offer for the right candidate

Key Responsibilities 

  • Assisting the commercial and project management team in pricing electrical works packages for turnkey substations, wind farms, grid connections, battery energy storage and other grid services technologies from 20 – 220kV
  • The senior electrical engineer will be responsible for the full electrical design including electrical studies for: cable rating and design, load flow, short circuit, insulation coordination, protection, power quality, earthing, and lightning protection. Protection & control schematics and wiring diagrams. Coordinating with the other designers (e.g. civil works) to achieve a fully compliant design to our customer’s requirements
  • Technical liaison with the client via the project manager for any technical matters that arise during the project
  • Review commissioning reports to ensure compliance with specifications.

Key Requirements 

  • Experience working in a design role in the electrical utility/renewables sector
  • 8-10 years’ experience post honours degree in electrical qualification or equivalent essential
  • Skills such as transformer specification, HV/MV equipment specification, protection studies, fault level studies, HV/MV cable design, panel design, substation design essential
  • EPLAN (or equivalent) knowledge
